Thomas Karthaus
Senior Associate
Thomas Karthaus (tkarthaus@watermill.com) is a Senior Associate at The Watermill Group. He is responsible for evaluating and coordinating potential transactions as well as providing project-specific assistance to portfolio companies. He has significant experience performing financial, operational and market due diligence and creating complex operating and valuation models for potential acquisitions.
Prior to joining Watermill, Mr. Karthaus worked as a Summer Associate at Fisher Scientific International in their Corporate Development division. While at Fisher, Mr. Karthaus performed in-depth market analysis to assess the attractiveness of new markets and to identify the best way for Fisher to participate in those markets. Mr. Karthaus began his career at The Blackstone Group where he held a variety of positions. Most recently, he was an Analyst for Blackstone’s Distressed Securities Hedge Fund where he was involved in all aspects of launching Blackstone’s first proprietary hedge fund, including roles as interim CFO and COO.
Mr. Karthaus received his B.S. at Fordham University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and was a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Gamma Sigma honor societies. Mr. Karthaus received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He is a CFA charterholder.
